Jean, Joe, Phillip (15) and Diane (12) Pritchard moved into Number 30 East Drive, Pontefract in August 1966 and immediately paranormal activity occurred regularly. Exorcisms were carried out making the spirit more angry with faces being slapped, walls seeping holy water, people being shoved. It came to a climax when the children were exiting adolescence and the young girl Diane who stayed in the house was dragged up the stairs by the entity with her kicking and screaming and finger marks could be seen around her neck. Still 30 East Drive is well known for the events that took place inside the building in the late 60’s and early 70’s, from pools of water appearing from nowhere, green foam pouring from taps, plants leaping out of pots across the rooms, cupboards shaking violently, photographs slashed, objects being thrown and the list goes on. The film “When the lights go out” was based on these incidents.
Who is this entity? It is thought to be poltergeist phenomena apparently caused by the ghost of a Cluniac monk who had been hanged for rape in the time of Henry VIII.
So the question is, what about now? Is there still paranormal activity occurring, well 145 paranormal incidents have been documented till now since 2014. Added to that is the GPI teams experiences at their last investigation at this location and where had some unbelievable activity from a cross appearing from nowhere lying in the middle of the corridor and marbles moving of their own accord, unpleasant smells coming and going throughout the location and so much more.
The team therefore are so excited about making a return visit to this location once again.
